Throughout the last few weeks, the COVID-19 outbreak has taken the United States by storm, especially Washington State. As health officials and political leaders determine our best course of action, it has left a lot of businesses with little choice but to scale back services or close services. While this is the case for many, Motorplex’s services will continue during this unprecedented time.

An essential industry throughout all of this is the trucking industry. Our country, and our Canadian neighbors, are dependant on the transport industry to continue to move vital goods across North America. Our truckers are working hard to ensure grocery stores can keep their shelves stocked, and most importantly, that hospitals and health care centres have the critical supplies they need to care for those infected with COVID-19. That includes shipping medical equipment, personal protective equipment, soap, sanitizers, COVID-19 testing kits, and even raw materials to factories to help make more supplies.

Motorplex Directly Supports the Trucking Industry

Motorplex offers heavy-duty repair and maintenance services, and much of what we do is fleet maintenance and repair for semi-trucks and other heavy-duty movers. Motorplex has shop locations in Auburn, WA, and Spokane, WA, but we also offer heavy-duty mobile repair services throughout Washington State and beyond in certain situations.

We understand the significance of this crisis, and how important it is for us to continue to help keep trucks running smoothly on the road. According to this article, the demand for transport trucks on the road sharply rose last month. Also, the cost of hiring a truck last-minute has gone up 6.1 percent in less than a month.

Regulations around how many hours a trucker can work in a day have been altered. Hours of services regulations do not apply for those transporting things like emergency supplies, medical equipment related to COVID-19, groceries, fuel, and a few other essential goods.

Keeping Your Fleet Moving

Now more than ever, trucking companies and their drivers need our support. We must provide preventative maintenance services and any necessary repairs in a timely fashion, so every vehicle that goes down in your fleet can get back on the road as soon as possible.

If one of your trucks is stuck, after an accident or because of a malfunction, you can count on us. As mentioned, Motorplex offers heavy-duty mobile repairs. That means our certified heavy-duty vehicle technicians will come to your truck, wherever it might be, to get it moving again. If we can’t fix it on the road, you can call on our Pro-Tow division for a heavy-duty tow back to the closest shop.

Thank you to our trucking industry for keeping our shelves stocked, and hospitals supplied.
