Offering on-site fleet services throughout Washington State and the Pacific Northwest

For busy operations and fleet managers, sometimes small maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs can pile up while vehicles are still trying to stay in service. It’s difficult to take a truck out of service for an in-shop inspection and service when it means so much downtime. That’s why we will come to you.

Recently, the Motorplex team supported a commercial vehicle rental company in Washington State with a series of on-site fleet inspections and repairs. Instead of pulling multiple units out of rotation and sending them to a shop, Motorplex technicians came directly to the fleet yard and handled the work where the vehicles were already staged.

It allowed us to inspect multiple vehicles in a single visit and provide the necessary service on-site. That kind of flexibility is exactly what helps fleet operators reduce downtime and keep revenue-generating vehicles on the road.

On-Site Fleet Services That Save Time and Disruption

Fleet maintenance often gets delayed because scheduling shop time means taking vehicles offline. For this rental company, taking vehicles out of service would make it difficult to meet customer demand and ultimately impact their bottom line.

During this recent service call, the team completed a mix of inspections, preventative maintenance checks, and targeted repairs across several units, all in a single coordinated visit. Here are some things we handled for this customer that day.

On-Site DOT Inspection to Keep Compliance on Track

One of the key tasks completed on-site was a DOT inspection for a 2018 Chevy 4500. Regular inspections like these are essential for ensuring commercial vehicles remain compliant, safe, and road-ready. By completing DOT checks on-site, Motorplex helps fleet operators avoid scheduling delays and reduces the risk of missed inspection deadlines.

For fleet managers, having inspections handled directly in the yard means less administrative coordination and faster vehicle availability.

Hydraulic Lift Gate Repair on a 2024 Chevy 4500

Another major repair was completed on a 2024 Chevy 4500 equipped with a hydraulic system.

Technicians diagnosed the issue and completed the repair by installing a new O-ring in the original fitting, then refilling the system with approximately 3 quarts of hydraulic oil. Once the system was restored, the lift gate was tested thoroughly under operational conditions.

All functions were confirmed to be working properly with no leaks observed, even under load-free testing conditions. After reassembling the lift gate panels and completing cleanup, the unit was returned to service-ready condition.

Courtesy Inspections to Prevent Problems Before They Start

In addition to repairs and formal inspections, the Motorplex team also completed courtesy inspections on multiple fleet units, including a 2022 Ford Transit and a Ford F-450.

These inspections are a key part of preventative fleet maintenance. Even when vehicles are not reporting issues, routine checks help identify early warning signs, such as fluid leaks, worn components, or system irregularities, before they lead to costly repairs or road failures.

This proactive approach helps extend vehicle life and reduce unexpected downtime. Motorplex technicians are trained and experienced with all makes and models of vehicles, which means they can handle inspections, service, maintenance, and repairs across your fleet.
